On Friday, February 19, stars such as Tony Hawk, Christian Slater, Brad Garrett, Jason Alexander, Joanna Krupa, Montel Williams, Donnie Wahlberg, Marlon Waynes and Slash were among the 39 players who competed in the $540 event in The Venetian Poker Room - raising more than $42,000 for Three Square, a food charity in Southern Nevada.

This inaugural poker event started off on the right foot with over 872 poker players registering for the $5,000 No-Limit Hold’em Tournament with many well-known names in the international poker scene.

Friday’s tournament saw some big celebrity names battle it out on the poker tables including:

AJ Buckley from CSI NY, Nicholas Gonzalez and Shaun Sipos of CW’s Melrose Place and UFC fighter Tito Ortiz.

Christian Slater was amazingly friendly and a fan favorite. He kept jumping up from the poker table to take photos with the fans lining the aisles. A bounty was put on Daniel Negreanu and the prize - a signed guitar by Slash - went to actor Donnie Wahlberg. Donnie said he was going to give the guitar to his son.

Zak “Zakooza” Alameddine from New York won the event and a ticket into next year’s PokerStars.net Caribbean Adventure in the Bahamas. He beat top poker pros such as Daniel Negreanu, Phil Hellmuth, world champion Joe Cada, Gavin Griffin, Dennis Phillips, Chris Moneymaker and Vanessa Rousso.

Baseball legend, Orel Hershiser, came second winning a seat in the NAPT Mohegan Sun event in April.  John Beveridge from Henderson, Nevada, came third and won a seat into today’s $5,000 PokerStars.net North American Poker Tour Venetian Main Event which is set to attract more than 800 players.

After playing in the tournament, the stars headed up to TAO Nightclub for cocktails, hors dourves and a special musical performance by recording artist T-Pain.

-    Christian Slater was seeing talking with Marlon Waynes and taking more photos with party guests and snacking on chicken satay.

-    Poker great Phil Hellmuth was seen relaxing in the VIP area with Brad Garrett and his friend enjoying a few cocktails.

-    Joanna Krupa mingled with  Tony Hawk then turned her attention to T-Pain and danced to the music.

-    Melrose Place stars Nicholas Gonzalez and Shaun Sipos also hung out in the VIP area and spoke about how much they love Tao and The Palazzo and can’t wait to come back.

Country superstar Kenny Chesney, who last fall announced he’d be playing a limited amount of shows in 2010, has unveiled plans will perform four shows at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas. The shows are scheduled to take place at the Joint on May 14th and 15th and July 2nd and 3rd.

The shows will bring Chesney  to The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas, and will give fans the chance to enjoy a more intimate opportunity to see the man who’s won 4 consecutive Academy of Country Music and 4 Country Music Association Entertainer of the Year Awards.

“Obviously we like to play. The beauty of The Joint is that not only is it a great rock and roll room, but they’ll let us get up there and play… and play… and play. We have so much fun, because we can throw in all kinds of stuff we don’t get to play in our regular show, and the audiences are diverse enough that no matter what we throw at them, they know the songs!” said Chesney.

Chesney, who was recently cited by The Los Angeles Times as the 2nd biggest artist of the decade for record sales, touring impact and hit singles, released two albums in 2009: the intimate “Lucky Old Sun,” which yielded the #1s “Everybody Wants To Go To Heaven” and “Down the Road,” a duet with the song’s writer Mac McAnally, and “Greatest Hits II,” featuring “Out Last Night” and “I’m Alive,” a duet with good friend Dave Matthews — and is preparing to record his next studio release.

“That’s what’s so great about a gig where the capacity is 4,000, especially at The Joint. It’s the best of both worlds: you get the energy of a club, but it’s still enough of a stage that you’ve got room to run around and have fun. Because when we do these smaller, less structured shows, we like to let loose without tripping over each other or getting tangled in someone’s chord.” Chesney continued.

Artists and performers from some of the biggest Las Vegas shows will be getting “Naked” this Valentine’s Day to raise funds for people suffering from HIV/AIDS. The “5th Annual Naked Hearts” presented by KRAVE Nightclub and staged as a benefit for Las Vegas-based HIV/AIDS charity Golden Rainbow. The event will be staged Valentine’s Day night on the Strip inside the world- KRAVE Nightclub, starting at 10:30 p.m. Dozens of dancers from many Las Vegas productions will perform throughout the night, in sexy interpretations of various fetishes. Attendees will also enjoy a special music show featuring KRAVE’s exclusive DJ, Morning Star, and go-go boys.

The fourth edition of the Experience Hendrix Tour, which features an all-star lineup of music greats performing the music of Jimi Hendrix, gets underway in March and will make a stop at The Joint at The Hard Rock Hotel Las Vegas.

The artists taking part in this concert tour, paying homage to the legendary Jimi Hendrix, include some of the biggest names in rock and blues such as:

He was an amazing player and a tremendous showman so I incorporated some of his showmanship in what I do.” As far as having been part of the Experience Hendrix touring phenomenon, Shepherd said, “It touches you on the inside and gets you fired up.”

Tickets for the Las Vegas show on Saturday, March 6th will be available for presale Thursday, January 14th and Friday, January 15th at The Joint Las Vegas.
