Visitors to the Las Vegas Natural History Museum can now take a trip through time to King Tut’s Tomb, see actual mummies and view artifact recreations of the most-recognizable Egyptian pieces in the world. The “Treasures of Egypt” exhibit is now open to the public at the Las Vegas Natural History Museum.

Through the generous support of the Engelstad family, visitors to the museum can now experience ancient Egypt close-up. Following the closing of Luxor’s King Tut museum at Luxor, the Vegas hotel donated all the pieces to the new exhibit and now they are all on display in an area twice the size.

With over 500 replicas on display, this modern twist on ancient Egypt includes King Tut’s golden throne, shrines, chariots, a gold-painted sarcophagus and much more.

One of the highlights of the “Treasures of Egypt” exhibit is the hands-on mummy-rendering technology, which allows visitors to “scan” a mummy replica and view real-life medical images of real mummies.

Discover how archeologists in the early 20th century unearthed some of the most renowned treasures of Egypt, including the Tomb of Tutankhamun. This exhibit can be visited from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily and it is located at 900 N. Las Vegas BLVD.

What are the top selling Las Vegas show tickets this week? Few surprises in the this week’s list aside from the entry of Penn & Teller into the top ten, with their show at the Rio Las Vegas and Jay Leno’s comedy show at The Mirage moving up six spots from last week.

Cher at the Colosseum takes the top spot for the second week in a row, more than doubling her closest competitor’s ticket sales-Cirque du Soleil’s The Beatles: Love. Barry Manilow dropped from the third spot down to the fifth position as Blue Man Group and Jay Leno fill this week’s third and fourth positions.

Rounding out the list is Vegas staple, magician David Copperfield in the sixth spot, followed by the long-running burlesque show Jubilee! in seventh place, Penn & Teller in eighth, the other Cirque show on the list-Le Reve, followed by comedienne Rita Rudner in the tenth spot.

Start practicing your best version of the National Anthem and head on down to Sam’s Town Las Vegas for the Speedway Superstar auditions on January 30th, 2010. The first 150 people to arrive will be guaranteed an audition.

The Las Vegas Motor Speedway is looking for a talented singer to perform the National Anthem on the Sam’s Town 300 NASCAR Nationwide Series event on February 27th. Registration at Sam’s Town Las Vegas begins at 9:00 a.m. and the auditions begin at 10:00 a.m. All participants must be at least 14 years old and have a valid photo ID.

The best 25 chosen in the first round of competition will be invited back for a second round of competition on February 13th, 2010.

Artists and performers from some of the biggest Las Vegas shows will be getting “Naked” this Valentine’s Day to raise funds for people suffering from HIV/AIDS. The “5th Annual Naked Hearts” presented by KRAVE Nightclub and staged as a benefit for Las Vegas-based HIV/AIDS charity Golden Rainbow. The event will be staged Valentine’s Day night on the Strip inside the world- KRAVE Nightclub, starting at 10:30 p.m. Dozens of dancers from many Las Vegas productions will perform throughout the night, in sexy interpretations of various fetishes. Attendees will also enjoy a special music show featuring KRAVE’s exclusive DJ, Morning Star, and go-go boys.

Over 2500 exhibitors, including more than 300 new companies and representatives will gather in Las Vegas this week to display, announce and unveil the latest and most innovative entertainment technologies, applications, games and software before they hit the market.

Known and the largest consumer technology trade show on the planet, the 2010 Consumer Electronics Show  (CES) will run from Thursday, January 7th to Sunday, January 10th at Las Vegas Convention Center, Las Vegas Hilton and The Venetian Resort and Casino. Attendees will have the chance to see, test and preview more than 20,000 new products on display, and enjoy 20 market-specific TechZones located throughout the Las Vegas Convention Center.

According to the show organizers, home and personal entertainment technology and connectivity and mobile devices will dominate this year’s International Consumer Electronics Show (ICES) exhibit floor. This year’s CES is also hosting a series of “green”conferences, keynotes and green gadget shows and demonstrations to present the latest in energy efficient and eco friendly products, as well as power-management devices, smart-energy-saving appliances, and more tools for managing your own power consumption. The show’s governing body, the Consumer Electronics Association, has also promised to buy carbon offsets and donate $50,000 to the Las Vegas police department to buy new electric vehicles.
