Eight go to post for this mile-and-a-half contest won last year by Sir Michael Stoute’s Doctor Fremantle.

Above Average took four runs to get off the mark, but did so in Group Three company when wearing down Big Bound at Sandown recently. Solid performer but is up against some promising types here.

Debussy has made big strides with each start, readily asserting in minor event at Epsom 15 days ago. He would have won by further that day but for idling, and this longer trip should be within his compass.

Golden Sword didn’t look out of the top drawer when winning one from four as a juvenile, but mustered improvement when a close fourth in a Group Two in France on his return. He looks stable second string here, though.

Masterofthehorse is a brother to Oaks winner Alexandrova and was progressing well as a juvenile until failing to give his running when favourite for the Racing Post Trophy on his final start. He looks a leading player if back on song.

Saptapadi is still a maiden after two starts and has ground to make up with Above Average from Sandown 13 days ago. Clearly well regarded, though, and bound to relish the stiffer test of stamina.

Sight Unseen is a son of Sadler’s Wells who seemed to catch connections unawares when scoring emphatically from a better-fancied stablemate on his debut. Sure to improve, though encounters much faster ground this time.

Solo Choice is a maiden who was a good fourth in Windsor handicap on turf debut recently. Blinkered first time but needs a miracle rather than headgear.

Too Much Trouble has beaten small fields on both starts to date, the latter by a wide margin at Catterick a fortnight ago. This clearly a sterner challenge, but is worthy of respect.
